Pack your shades, your summer rags and a ridiculous amount of money that you wouldn't usually spend in such a short period of time and head for the nearest airport. It's that time of year where the UK gets sunny, so logically, we all head to go for a holiday in the sun, but where are we off to this year? Fragrance rich are about to give you a small list of amazing places to holiday this year. Let's get going...
1) Italy - Rome
Art and Architecture - Masterpieces, grand sculptures and paintings from artists such as Michaelangelo, Bernini, Sangollo and many others have their home in Rome; and to experience that first hand, to be in front of these pieces of history would really bring it to life and enable you to connect with the artists behind them. In terms of architecture; having made it's way onto several wonder of the world lists, it would be criminal to not mention the Colosseum. But in terms of architecture, there's so much more also. Including, but not limited to; the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Navona Square, etc. Then there's Vatican City also. But if all of this so far has not convinced you, then why not go for the Wine, or even better, the food (unapologetic food lover writing)!!
2) Australia
If you can get over the fact that the fastest flight to Australia is 22hours, and also the fact that about everything out there may try and kill you, it becomes a really nice travel destination. Over 50,000km of coastline await you, so naturally there'll be a variety of beautiful beaches to choose from and you will most definitely find a place to relax with so much coastline to choose from. You could go and look for Nemo (for the Disney fans). The film is indeed set in the Great Barrier Reef and if you are planning on going to Australia, you should also set yourself in the Great Barrier Reef. With its abundance of marine life and unmissable diving opportunities, you'll really get vibrant coral, turtles, and even sharks. Once again, if this has not convinced you, there is the amazing Wine they provide.
3) Indonesia
Hosting the largest Buddhist temple in the world, this monument is truly beautiful and the architecture is pure genius. Standing at the very top of the temple early in the morning, you can catch the sunrise and be stunned into speechlessness. Indonesia falls in what is called "the Pacific rim of fire", which is one of the most active volcanic areas in the world, with 150 in Indonesia alone (trust me, I have a good point here). Mount Kelimutu is one of these volcanoes and all it boasts is colour changing crater lakes (amazing, I know). Then there's the blue glowing lava of Kawah Ijen Volcano, then the Munduk Moding Plantation which is above the clouds, oh, and the Madakaripura Waterfall... Hmm, this actually seems like it would be the best place to visit. Well, that's my holiday sorted then.
